What data this website processes, why, and what your rights are.
Advocatenkantoor de Baarsjes, Hoofdweg 180-hs, 1057 DD Amsterdam, is the controller for personal data processed through this website. Questions about privacy can be sent to info@baarsjes-advocaten.nl or asked by phone on 020 – 618 10 46.
This statement covers the website. Data we receive once you become a client is processed as part of the engagement and under our professional duty of confidentiality as lawyers.
When you fill in the contact form, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if given), the subject and your message. We use this only to answer your question and to schedule an introductory meeting if you want one. The legal basis is your request for contact (steps prior to entering into a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
The form is handled technically by our website administrator Perceptum (trading as Bollenstreek Digitaal), which forwards your message to us by email. Perceptum processes the data only on our behalf.
Please do not send confidential documents or sensitive details about your case through the form. We prefer to discuss those in the introductory meeting.
If you do not become a client, we delete your message no later than one year after our last contact.
We want to know how the website is used, for example which pages are viewed. For this we use LiveView, a statistics service from Perceptum. LiveView does not set cookies. It does store a random visitor number in your browser's storage, so that a returning visit is not counted twice. Your IP address is made untraceable immediately and is not stored. The statistics are not shared with others and are not used to track you on other websites.
You can remove the visitor number at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
The map on the contact page only loads when you click “Show map”. At that moment Google receives your IP address, among other data. The fonts on this website are served from our own server; no connection to Google is made for them.
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., United States). As with any website, the host receives technical data such as your IP address in order to serve the page. GitHub participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to its processing. Send an email to info@baarsjes-advocaten.nl. We respond within one month.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
